How a ride works
Like a real meter, Fare Enough moves through a few simple states.
- Off duty
The meter rests. Go on duty when you’re ready to drive.
- Free
On duty and ready for the next passenger.
- Hired
The meter runs. Distance and waiting time add up in the tariff’s own steps.
- Paused
A break mid-ride. Resume, and the meter is Hired again.
- To pay
The fare stops. Out comes the receipt, and the meter is Free again.

The honest bit
Fare Enough is made for fun. It isn’t a certified or calibrated taximeter, and it isn’t meant for professional drivers.
Fares are estimates. They come from your phone’s GPS and a city’s published tariff, and tariffs change. If a number matters, check local rules.
Receipts aren’t fiscal documents. Every one says so at the bottom: “Not a fiscal receipt. Made with Fare Enough.”
Eyes on the road. Start the meter before you set off and let it run by itself. It needs nothing from you until the ride ends.
Your rides stay on your phone
Free, with no ads, no account and no analytics. Nothing leaves your phone except requests to Apple Maps.
