Terms of Use
The short version: Fare Enough is made for fun, and we can’t guarantee anything it tells you. It’s free and comes as it is. It isn’t a certified taximeter, its receipts aren’t fiscal receipts, and your eyes belong on the road.
Who we are and what these terms cover
Fare Enough (named Fare Enough Meter on the App Store) is an iPhone app made by Mikita Iwanowski (“we”, “us”). These terms cover the app and this website. By using either, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.
Made for fun, provided as is
Fare Enough is free and made for entertainment. We provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability or fitness for a particular purpose. We don’t promise that it will work without interruptions or errors, or that it will stay available.
Fares are estimates
Every fare the app shows is an estimate. It is worked out from your phone’s GPS, which can be imprecise, and from published taxi tariffs, which change and may be out of date, incomplete or wrong in the app. A real taxi may charge something different. If a number matters to you, check local rules and the tariff in force.
Not a taximeter
Fare Enough is not a certified or calibrated taximeter. Don’t use it for professional or commercial fare calculation, such as running a taxi, private-hire or ride-hailing service.
Receipts are not fiscal documents
Receipts made with Fare Enough are not fiscal receipts, invoices or proof of a real taxi ride, and every one says so: “Not a fiscal receipt. Made with Fare Enough.” Don’t use them for tax, accounting or expense claims, and don’t present them as anything else.
Safety on the road
Never handle your phone while driving. Set up the meter before you set off and let it run by itself, and only look at it when it’s safe to. Always follow traffic law and road signs. No fare, real or pretend, is worth a hurry.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the app or this website, or from relying on anything they show, including fares, tariffs, maps, place names and receipts. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or takes away your rights as a consumer.
Other services
Maps, map pictures and street and place names come from Apple Maps, which Apple’s own terms and privacy policy govern. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s App Store terms apply too. Fare Enough is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple, Phomemo, or any city, transport authority or taxi company.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If you keep using the app after that, the updated terms apply.
